TABLANUSU VILLAGE, Depapre-Papua

     TABLANUSU village being the costal village in Depapre Distric, Jayapura Regency has a very beautiful natural spell. The village has a 'black natural rock' making it superior to any other villages in Papua. Tablanusu originates from words "tepuonusu" meaning Tepera being the name of ethnic group and Onusu meaning the sunset. besid ethe black natural rock, Tablanusu also has 2 unoccupied small island. they say the islands emerged due to tsunami. Orchid plants being the specialty of papua grow on the islands.

     In the afternoon, all kinds of birds gather on the island being the extraordinary natural scenery of the Almighty God. The costal spread around Tablanusu village is like a small bay so that as far as the eye can see, one can enjoy the bauty of the village and mpuntains overgrown with high trees like a jungle surrounding the village with thousands of species of florra and fauna.Tablanusu village extending to 235,5 hectares has the population of 402 peoples consisting of 230 men and 172 eomen in 10 ethnic groups: Sumilena and Danya.
Tablanusu village is only 45 km from Sentani airport and can be reashed by land for 30 minutes to Depapre and by boat (Jhonson) for 10 minutes by passing through a historical place namely a harbour where the American allied army landed during the World War II. The place is also one of the historical proofs making Tablanusu Village a highly potential area to become a "Tourism Village".
      In the beginning, Tablanusu villagers resided at Kewayo village but the village was disappeared due to tsunami and the villagers moved to Bitiayo village. In 1880, Bitiayo village become the basis of the Chinese Bird treaders and hunters and in 1885, some of the Tablanusu villagers left to Ambon and java Island due to the influence of the incomesrs.
      The arrival of Tablanusu villagers back to Tablanusu village reformed the existing Tablanusu villagers. On November 26, 1991, a priest from Ambon called Amo Pasal Besi christnianised Tablanusu villagers. At the end of World War II on May 15, 1945, Tablanusu villagers moved to Separi Boru and reside there to date.
